Skills and abilities

  • Master Mariner with 10+ years of seagoing experience and over 15 years of career association with Pacific Basin, having joined as a Deck Cadet in 2010 and progressed through the ranks to Master. Experienced in ocean-going dry bulk operations, with approximately 20 months in command and previous extensive experience as Chief Officer. Command experience includes bulk carriers ranging from approximately 30,000 to 61,500 DWT, with responsibility for safe navigation; cargo operations and stability; crew leadership; vessel safety; regulatory compliance; and shipboard operations. Experienced in newbuilding and second-hand vessel takeovers; drydock operations; inspections; emergency preparedness and implementation of ISM; SOLAS; ISPS; and MLC requirements. Presently based in Italy with family and seeking positions in both sea-going Master and shore-based maritime opportunities- particularly Marine Superintendent; Marine Operations; Fleet Operations; Marine Compliance; HSQE; and Marine Surveyor roles.
